All the links I have followed are either broken or point to questions about the template
Has anyone a link to the temple

You need to first check your elibility here: www.microsoft.com/.../eligibility
If you are eligible, follow the process (Get Started) to gain benefits or else click on 'Contact Us' to discuss your issues.
You will get subsidised licensing and Non Profit Managed Solution installed by MS or been sent to your administrator.
I am assuming that you have purchased the MS CRM online without specifying that your company is Non Profit Organization.

There are offerings for Non-Profit organizations from Microsoft, like reduced licensing fee on certain products and services.
It is available for selected countries.
