Hello,

How does system calculate requirment date for planned orders ? if we take the following example for instance, for a finished good sales order with a requirement date on = 7/8/2021 planned production order is proposed on 7/27/2021 .which mean it will be 13 days later the deadline. (by the way, MRP action message = advance).

How could we control lead time to make sure components are produced on time?

On the other Hand, the following capacity issue occurs often.

    Hi Omar,

There are multiple factors which can influence the calculation. It could be related to the times on the route, but also some additional lead times in the MRP setup. Can you share more information as we don't know the setup in your environment.

    Hi André,

I've amended the original post and added our environment parameters.

In fact, I want to understand the main parameters that controls planning leadtimes and capacity constraints. I've done so many testings but still didn't make it to figure out how to do it accurately.

Thanks for your answer, I appreciate your support.

    Best regards.

    Hi Omar,

A quick check let me think that there is 7 hours required to create one item. There is an initial setup time of 1 hour.

So, the calculation will be 25 units * 7 hours = 175 hours.

1 hour setup time added to this will result in 176 hours. You have setup 5 working days with 8 hours each. So, the days required to produce the 25 units is 176 / 8 = 22 work days.

Is this the intention? Do you really need 7 hours per unit? When you ran the master planning on June 29 or 30, then indeed the outcome would be 22 work days later, which is after the deadline.
