”Physically Reserved“ product

Quick question, at which point does product (item) becomes “Physically Reserved” in AX 2012? Is it when Sales Order is confirmed, or “Picking List” is generated? Also I would assume that “Physically Reserved” products are not available for new sales order, unless sales order with physically reserved product is canceled.

Thanks.....

    Hi Miro Vran,

It depends on what is the reservation set to for your AX.

If the reservation is set to "Automatic" and if the physical inventory is in sufficient quantity then the sales order is reserved as soon as it is saved.

If the reservation is set to manual then items are reserved only when user manually does the reservation.

Yes reserved physical items are not available for other sales order till you remove the reservation or delete the sales order.

no effect on inventory for confirmation, if you make a reservation , qty will update as Physically Reserved
