I'm just taking a survey here. Is there anyone out here that is paying sales reps commissions and using GP Out of the Box, no third party products, no special reports to calculate those commissions?

Like Leslie, none of my customers use it as intended. Some customers do let GP do its job, but just like Leslie this is so that they can get the gross sales figures per salesperson which they run through an XL sheet to calculate commissions payable.
One other customer we developed a module to calculte commissions which are different for every sale. But no one using the commissions functionality out of the box from GP.
Maybe the reason is that commission calculation is unique to customers - and there is a lot of Human intelligence used when deciding what to pay?

Nobody on my block is actually using the commissions model 'as designed' (who designed this anyway). Like others, they use it to track commissionable sales (is that a word?) and then feed it through their own process.
So, you really have someone using the out-of-the-box commissions? Wow.

No, I have written an SQL Query to generate a sales report that our commissions are based on. We have some products that we do not pay commissions on and the way GP calculate commissions is all or nothing for each sale.
We do use the commissions in GP as an indicator, but find it restrictive/painful in that you cannot have one salesperson with many commission rates, instead we have created many salespersons (same salesman) for the different commission rates to match certain customers.
Have a customer making active use of the feature in SOP, but commissions are not calculated in GP, rather in another system as they have other "ancillaries" and a number of retro information to include.
We have a customer that is dumping data out of SmartList to pay monthly commissions. Not sure if that falls into the 'special reports' category, but they do not actually have a custom report, just using the raw data from GP.
Careful, Mark, I know of one.
