BC App Signing using hardtoken

Hi All,

Recently, we have purchased a Code Signing Certificate.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to export the private key (.pfx) again (as per 30 May 2023, we will need to use hardtoken, as informed by Digicert LiveChat support ).

The thing is documentation from Microsoft is still referring to syntax that are using.pfx.

So we did some googling and come across a good post from Navisiontech.

Unfortunately the solution doesn't seems to work for us. We still got this error when trying to sign our .app file.

SignTool Error: This file format cannot be signed because it is not recognized.

Kindly share or advise if you have any experience regarding this issue.

You need to have Business Central installed on the computer you use to sign the .app file.

Maybe you are trying on a computer where BC is not installed?

I have the Business Central App installed.

I also got similar error when using signtool, Please try with installing BC 14 version with Developer environment and RTC enabled, it worked for me.
