Chart of Accounts - alpha ok?

Can the Chart of Accounts have alpha numeric combinations, such a a "U" at the end of the account number string?

    Yes, but pay attention to the display width. Tools->Setup->Company->Account Format.

    Use the following guidelines to determine which display width is most appropriate for the segment, depending on the characters and digits that are most likely to be included in the segment.

    Standard - 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, F, I, J, L, T, and Z

    Expansion 1 - A, B, E, K, P, S, V, X, and Y

    Expansion 2 - C, D, G, H, M, N, O, Q, R and U

    Expansion 3 - W
