What's the difference to set Global Customer - Yes or No?

Since I know how to add Customer birthday information using Custom Captions.

I need to know the difference of Global Customer setting - Yes or No. Since we are using RMS SO and HQ.,I need to know clearly before I add the field.

Is there anyone can define the difference and which choice I have to follow for adding birthday field for customer data?

GLOBAL CUSTOMER ALSO WILL AFFECT ALL CUSTOMER`S PAYMENTS WHICH WILL BE ALSO SYNCED IN ALL STORES,

CUSTOMER CAN PAY IN ANY STORE , HQ WILL DO ALL OTHER PROCES.

Global Customer = Customer record will be synced in all stores connected to HQ

Local Customer = Customer record will be only on said store
