How to bulk update a Contact's field value?

I have a field value which I want to clear the value on a number of Contact entities.

The field I want to clear has a display name of "College Email".

I can create an advanced find which will contain all the required Contacts with college emails that I want to delete the College Email field value for - which includes the "College Email" field and the "Personal Email" field and export that to an excel file.

My question is, Is there a way of bulk deleting all the College Email field values matching the Contact name or  Personal Email.

I've tried exporting a "Template for Data Import" for the Contact entity via Settings -> Data Management. Then importing the excel file with the first name and last name populated and the College Email value blank for each of the contacts. But this just creates new contacts rather than editing the existing contact's College Email value.

    Hello Bvarley;

    You deffinetly on the right track here. When you do your export you need to export the advanced find query. You want to make sure that you click the check box for the Make this data available for re-importing. If you were do to this then blank out the email addresses you wanted and reuploaded it as an import it should resolve your issue here.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Jason,

    The option to "Export to Excel" from the advanced find result window, doesn't give an option to "Make this data available for re-importing".

    I think this option is only available when exporting from a view in CRM?

    You need to export your data from advanced find and make sure you select re-importing option and then export.

    After exporting you can make your changes to the exported data and then again re-import those data.

    I hope this should work.

    If my answer is helpful to you please mark it as answered.

    Thanks.

    If you are working on 2011/2013 version, while exporting the records from advance find, you need to check the checkbox saying make this data available to for re-import. If working on version 2015 or later, just download the excel file. Remove values from the email column, save and re-import the same file to CRM. This will update all those contact records.
