Compilation Error

Posted on by 1,112

Dear Sir,

We're not able to compile any object in NAV 2016 Database while working remotely. Suppose NAV SERVER & SQL SERVER are installed in a Machine Called 'PC1' & we are trying to modify & compile its object from a Client Computer. The following error is  popped up from the machine.

The Firewall/Anti Virus application are temporally off though it's not working.

What could be the actual reason ? Kindly reply.

Thank you,

Subrata

It's working. Now Client is able to access the database thru Windows/Database Authentication (both) & can modify/Compile the tables.

    Thank you very much.

First of all lot of thanks for reply.

This is very nice trick I already used few year ago to Open RTC client (from Client PC) where NST authentication was Windows credential & where no AD was exist. I will apply the same trick once again as  you said.

My NST is running on 'NavUserPasswaord' Authentication  Mode & I choose to access the database thru Database Authentication (User 'sa' & Password '***'). The same USERID & Password is working (CRUD in object level ) fine in NST Server machine but It does not work from my Client PC.

    Hi SUBRATA,

    In this case:

    - Create a local windows account (same username/password) on both Client and NAV Server machines.

    - On NAV Server, grant administrator right to the windows account.

    - On Client, run Development Environment with the windows account.

No company filter is applied/assigned in any user (Access Control Table). So reason may be different.

Please remove the company filter from NAV user setup. Then try. hope it will help.

    Thanks for your reply,

The Windows Login of the Client PC is an Administrator. There is no AD exist.

If you want to say something different in your Solution, please elaborate it.

    RE: Compilation Error

    Hi SUBRATA,

I faced this issue 2 or 3 years ago.

This is because your windows account (used to run Development Environment on client machine) does not exists or not enough permission to access services list of NAV Server.

Solution: grant your windows account (used to run Development Environment on client machine) with administrator right on NAV Server.

I can able to run RTC from my client PC & also can open/run object in RTC from Developer Environment without any issue.
