Application Performance Monitoring solutions for AX 2012 R3 with user experience

Hi, we run AX 2012 R3 with the client installed on Remote session hosts for our users to access. Our issue is that we need more info regarding the timing of user experiences (e.g opening screens/invoicing etc) with a view to monitoring these and notifying when the times have gone beyond a baseline so we can be more pro active in dealing with issues.

Does anyone have any recommendations of tools/solutions that do this? Ideally it would automate and measure processes within AX to produce the monitoring feedback.

We already have overall system monitoring/dba monitoring and trace parser etc but are still reliant on user feedback regarding speed issues.

We are currently looking at Gartner recommended APM tools (including appdynamics/dynatrace among others) but are having difficulties in finding one with full AX 2012 support. Does anyone else have a recommended solution or has anyone built something in house to create this?

Hello,

you need to do both Dynamics and SQL performance analysis. The best way (and the recommended) to do this is using DynamicsPerf. This tool monitorizes the environment performance in a separate database during days or weeks and let you get conclusions about their results.

Based on this, you can find some x++ problems, slow sql queries, client performance issues and more...
