Hi All,

Is it possible to define a specific item, and this item contains more than one piece (such as furniture) but with the same SKU and barcode No?
Also, how can it be stored in more than one bin on WMS?

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

    Yes, it's possible.

Answer to your first question -

    1. Setup Item in BC by defining it as a single item with its unique SKU and barcode, regardless of the fact that it physically consists of multiple pieces.
    2. If item is sold as a set but stored as individual pieces, consider using a Bill of Materials (BOM) to define the set. The BOM would list each piece as a component of the main item.

Answer to your second question -

    1. In the item's warehouse entries, each entry can specify a different bin code.
    2. Set up location with 'Directed Put-away and Pick' to effectively manage multi-bin storage.
    3. When picking the item for ordere, set up your picking process to consolidate items from multiple bins before shipping.
    4. Regular stock counts and adjustments may be necessary because the item is stored in multiple locations within the warehouse.

Note that when sold, the item will be treated as a single SKU. It reduces the inventory of that SKU, not the individual components (unless you are using a BOM structure).
