Create view to count the child records of all parent entities

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi there!

I have a custom entity named "Service" and a custom entity called "Type" .

I have N:N relationship between them. I would like to add a chart to my dashboard with all services with their types.

So lets say i have 10 services last month. 5 Interior Car wash type and 5 exterior car wash type. I would like to show them in chart by type.

How is that possible?

The problem is that i have N:N relationship. There is no lookup field Service Type , but a sub-grid  with Service Types. Therefore i can do this as you instructed

    Hi shak,

    it is a simple task.

Please refer to this site: https://crmchartguy.wordpress.com or search google for "dynamics crm create a chart".

    In few words:

    1) Create a view (Service of this month with Service Type included in columns)

    2) Create a chart based on this view, selecting Service Type field in chart fields

Please let me know if you solve
