Hi,
i'm currently using Dynamics AX and about to do my roll forward. Question that I've, once i rollforward the 2019 balances to 2020 can i still book entry?
What would happen if I do my rollforward steps but later on we have an additional entry ? Can we do the rollforward steps again afrer booking that entry?
Thanks,
Annie
Hi Annie,
You can rerun your year end close process again. The link below describe this in little bit more detail. To get comfortable, rerun in your non-production environment.

Hi Satish,
Thank you so much! So, I can do the roll forward , book entry and re-run the roll forward steps:)! That's great! I will try to test it in the test environment.
You can also undo a previous close if needed as well by using this toggle and Identifying which year.
Hello Annie Nguyen,
Can you explain in more detail what you refer to when you say 'roll forward'?
Do you refer to the year end closing process that generates closing and opening vouchers for the new year?
Assuming that this is the case.
After you run the year end closing process you can still post transactions into the old year (2019).
When doing that, please remember to run the year end closing process again to ensure that the opening transactions reflect those adjustments.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Yes, that is exactly what i'm talking about. Year end closing process! Thank you so much everyone! Really appreciate everyone help!
Hello Annie,

HI,
It's so strange, I roll forward the balances (in test environment ) and go back book an entry to one acct and re-run the roll forward steps. For some reason, all of the balances changed (changed in half , meaning all of the balances for every single account changed in half of what they were at the first time that I ran the roll forward.
Do you know why it's happened that way? I thought we can run as many times as we need and the balances should not change. Isn't it?
Can you capture some screenshots of what it is now.. run it again and see what happens. Not sure how it would do 1/2.
Can you let us know
1) What postings have been made in the previous year
2) What GL parameters were selected when running the fiscal year end close
3) An example / screenprint that illustrates the issue
Many thanks,
I'm trying to run the year end process again (using diff test environment) .
But, above is a screen shot of what my year end rollforward.
