Hi we are setting up the GP 2010 AM and in the process wondering if we can be able to upgrade to 2013 with the version that we have as below: Note - Win is 2008 version, OS, SQL, GP Server all installed in same machine since we have only one active user with a total of 5 users. Do we need to upgrade OS to 2008 R2 at least or win 2012? From QB, we brought balances and open transactions and in the process of validating the trans to make sure they match with QB.

appreciate any thoughts on best practices and points to consider while upgrading etc.,

You answer seem to be the correct guideline to follow.

I have just upgraded (in test) from GP 2010 (11.00.2044) without any errors.My SQL was 2008 R2 SP2 which I as also able to upgrade to SQL 2012 BI

You can't go direct from 2010 SP3 to 2013; you will need to install the last hotfix for 2010 SP3 first.

Make sure you have the correct service pack versions (Win2008 is SP3 and SQL 2008 is SP3, SQL 2008 R2 is SP1).

Before you try an upgrade make sure you have no overlapping periods or the upgrade will hang.
