Dynamics 365 Marketing and Exchange online limits

Dear guys,

I concern about limitation of Exchange Online Protection as website:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/troubleshoot/antispam/tenant-has-exceeded-threshold#cause

Cause

This issue occurs because Exchange Online Protection (EOP) filters identify a very large volume of suspicious email coming from the tenant. This triggers a block of outgoing email.

The increased level of spam can occur for several different reasons. The most common reasons are the following:

  • Sending bulk mail. This is because bulk mail violates the Office 365 terms of service. Exchange Online customers who have to send legitimate bulk commercial email (for example, customer newsletters) should use third-party providers that specialize in these services.

For more information, see the "Receiving and sending limits" section of Exchange Online Limits.

  • A compromised system, in which attackers can use your tenant to send email without your knowledge.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/exchange-online-service-description/exchange-online-limits#sending-limits

1 After the recipient rate limit is reached, messages can't be sent from the mailbox until the number of recipients that were sent messages in the past 24 hours drops below the limit. For example, a user sends an email message to 5000 recipients at 09:00 AM, then sends another message to 2500 recipients at 10:00 AM, and then sends another message to 2500 recipients at 11:00 AM, hitting the limit of 10,000 messages. The user won't be able to send messages again until 09:00 AM the next day. 2 You can customize recipient limits between 1 and 1000 for existing mailboxes and for new mailboxes that will be created in the future. Edit the recipient limit on existing mailboxes individually or in bulk using the Exchange admin center and customize the default setting for new mailboxes via Remote PowerShell. For more information, see Customizable recipient limits in Office 365.

Do you guys have any experience of this case?

Does This Exchange Online Protection affect to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Marketing?

Because if Microsoft set this limitation, Marketing cannot send email to a large volume of customers.

Thank you

    Hi!

These limits will be hit when you use the in-app Marketing App (Get started with in-app marketing (Sales)) which uses the Mailboxes you setup for SSS.

When using the new Dynamics 365 Marketing (User Guide (Marketing)), these limits won't even take place as the emails are sent from a dedicated account (not measured).

So in conclusion, when using Dynamics 365 Marketing, you don't need to worry about these limits.

    Regards.
