NAV 2009 R2 - Could not create an instance of the OLE control or Automation server

Posted on by Microsoft Employee
Does anyone have any suggestions on the error message below? We're able to run our process on all work stations except 1. I've uninstalled and have reinstalled the client. We have an encryption key that is installed locally in the users C: temp folder and a code unit that we run. Again, this is working on all workstations except for 1. Could not create an instance of the OLE control or Automation . server identified by GUID={DAB99883-91F5-4CEA-B6A1-58EFE34D77A0} 1.0{534A997B-85FF-4AE9-A478-1DD9EB731DA4}:'Microsoft Dynamics NAV wrapper for Dynamics Online Proxy'.RSAMachineKeyProvider. Check that the OLE control or Automation server is correctly installed and registered.

Just open the command prompt with "Run as administrator" option and enter "regsvr32 [automation file name]", to see if it runs fine.

Thanks Danielle..  The CU is compiled and recompiled without issue.  Still no-go...

Do you have instructions on how to specifically register the control with regsvr32 command?

Are you running classic client or RTC?

This error can be raised also due to missing permission to the directory containing the automation: since it's C:\ in this case I'd rather exclude it.

I suggest to try registering again the control with regsvr32 command, check if the codeunit compile properly and if not reinstalling completely the key.
