Error: Some components tracked by serial or lot numbers do not have the appropriate number of numbers assigned.

I receive this error when trying to receive a Manufacturing Order. There is an item in the MO that doesn't have its serial numbers assigned. I cannot reverse issue because there are no serial numbers to take out. I cannot receive because there are no serial numbers.

Any ideas? even if it involves deleting from a table I am ok with that just to get this moving.

    Hi Steve,

I got the exact same error message from a user that wanted to do a receiving against an MO (Create MO receipt entry). The message was : "Some components tracked by serial or lot numbers do not have the appropriate number of numbers assigned".

This keeps the user from posting to close the MO. Does anyone have found a solution to this ? any routines available to fix this ? The involved tables in the MO are numerous (> 25), so there is quite a lot of possibilities...

This seems to be quite a common problem, but I cannot find much solution on the net about this. So please any manufacturing specialist, your help would be very appreciated.

Run Checklinks then Reconcile.  This will create new serial or lot number records when necessary so that the records in the Serial Lot Master table will match the quantity on hand fo the serialized items.  You can then edit the Serial Lot Master table and change the auto created serial numbers to the proper values to match what is actually in the inventory.

    Dear,

I had similar issue. After the investigation found the following.

    1. Table WO010302 having one field - QTYCONSUMED.

I changed this field/column to 0. Then this issue is resolved.

Table Wo010302 in my instance does not have any records.

Has anyone found a way to resolve this issue without a checklinks and a reconcile?
