POS Extensions: Hello World

Hi folks

I need to build some POS extensions. I am not seeing the light. Really struggling.

At the moment I just want to build a classic hello world program. Or just at least get something deployed.

If anyone can supply a tutorial or some material, or possibly some baby steps to deploy a new button or functionality it will be greatly appreciated.

Also if someone is able to spend an hour or two with me on a call I am willing to pay for your time.

I am aware of the MS docs page. Currently working off it.

Thanks for your attention

The Sealed Commerce Installers are indeed used in those GitHub based Commerce SDK Samples which deal with MPOS, Commerce Scale Unit and Hardware Station.

Here is a link to all the Microsoft documentation from installing to developing and extending retail:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../dev-retail-home-page

I looked at Sergey's link community.dynamics.com/.../introducing-sealed-installers and I can't decide if it's for the new commerceSDK. The mentioning of the sealed installers almost sounds like it, but I could be wrong.

I see we have to convert RetailSDK to CommerceSDK before October 2022 when RetailSDK will be deprecated.  I have not done this yet. At least I have almost a year to figure this one out.

This is the sample demonstrating how to employ a custom button and its handler. If you are using the new Sealed MPOS Installer of the version 10.0.22 or newer (by the way, when working with that GitHub repo - don't forget to select the branch you need, like release/9.32, 9.33 and so on) - that sample can just be built and installed - you don't need to create any code to see it in action. Here you will find more details on how to install the extension: Deploying an extension

You can refer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/commerce/pos-screen-layouts for more details. Hope this can help you.

    Hi Pete,

Your question will be soon moved to the Dynamics 365 Commerce forum.

Have you checked if there is additional information in the Resources section of the Commerce Forum e.g. TechTalks, Webinars?
