If you are current on your GP Annual Maintenance fee - different name in different locals - but the annual fee you pay to Microsoft. Anyway.

If you are current, then you have access to all licenses from GP8.0 to most current.

The safest and most complete way to update is version by version.  I would also suggest that you apply the latest SP to each version as you move forward.  Follow the guide on the Microsoft site to ensure that (as example only) GP8.0 with SP4 is compatible for the update to GP9.0 and then what SP is needed on GP9.0 to move to GP10

Do you follow what I am saying?

If you have other qusestions please be sure to post.

You will also need to be aware of compatibility with versions of SQL.  To move all the way from 8.0 to 2013 or 2015 is actually quite a major technology change.  8 to 2015 is six versions - most people upgrade every two versions.

If you have never yourself done a GP upgrade before, I would highly recommend using an experienced partner.  If you do choose to do it yourself, make sure you do a test upgrade first.

Follow all documentation that is available (I can't point you to where it is as I don't do upgrades).

    Cheers

    Heather

Heather that is a great catch - I was thinking I was a little light on my answer this morning - but as soon as I read - SQL - I knew what I figured I had forgotten.

Good catch and spot on advice - 2 version jumps is massive - 6 is not all wise and not at all supported.

    Good luck with the conversions.

    Hi Bill/Heather,

I have some doubts about the upgrade, if i want to upgrade from lower to higher versions.

how to do the upgradation, first where should i start from.

what are the steps to take from first to last to upgrade the system.
