Release Partial Sales Orders Using Outbound Load Planning Workbench

Hi All,
 
I have a situation where we have a sales order for 100 units and only have 75 units in stock.   When I reserve the stock on the sales order and release via the sales order release to warehouse option the warehouse picking work is created for 75 rolls.
 
When I try to do the same without reserving the stock and releasing the order using the outbound load planning workbench (I have the reserve inventory at load posting flag set to yes on the warehouse) I get an error message 'Failed to reserve 100.00 of Item Id 10021156 on Sales Order SO00033195'
 
I want to be able to release orders that are less than our on-hand quantity and ship what we have in stock using the outbound load planning workbench.
 
Is there a setting I'm missing?

    I would like an answer on this also. Seems releasing from the Outbound load workbench always gives the error, even if the warehouse is set to 'Warn' if there is partial quantities.
     
    Semes like the only way to release to warehouse with partial quantities is via the Sales/Transfer order, and not the Load .

    Yes, this is a known issue. I have faced very hard times trying to sell this to customers. I hope Microsoft takes this fix and allows for partial reservation. It is such a basic requirement that you would like to release load partially after reserving it partially for whatever stock available. :(
