Microsoft RMS 2.0 Credit/Debit card processing

Posted on by 255

My MSCE tells me that RMS 2.0 ONLY supports TSYS.

So, in selecting credit card merchant services, I need to go with the company that supports TSYS. Otherwise, I need to buy PC Charge to go with my preferred merchant.

My questions are:

1. MS RMS 2.0 ONLY has TSYS built in the program?

2. If I buy PC Charge, he tell me I need to pay PC Charge about $300.00 in support fee every year, so he is recommending to use the company that supports TSYS. Is it true?

Thank you very much in advance, and look forward to hearing from you.

Let's handle #2 first, PCC is no longer compatible with RMS as it is not PCI compliant with its RMS implementation.  This has been discussed here numerous times over the last 2-3 years.

Depending on who you process with, almost all can work thru TSYS.  Depending on your volume and negotiating skills, your processor may charge you an extra .01 - .05 per transaction.

There are other processors that have written their interface to work with their own network with RMS.  To be honest, the thing you should be looking for is End to End encryption with Tokenization.  There are only 2 companies I know of that are doing it for RMS, Mercury Payments and PayPros.  The card is swiped by the customer, the cc number is encrypted by the device , a token number is created and can only be un-encrypted at the other end by the processor.  This is going to be required by all merchants by 2015 as of today (they keep moving the date back).
