Unable to see Dynamics for 365 Operations in Product name of lcs

Hi,

I'm trying to apply a gst patch for India for AX 2012 r2 for my organization. So i'm following steps from "India GST installation and setup" document from this URL - https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/northamerica/AX/downloads/tax-regulatory-updates/GST-India

I open lcs from an organizational account to create a project. But i'm unable to see Dynamics for 365 operations in the products section.

I'm not sure why but just followings steps mentioned in the document. I'm stuck at the very first step itself. GST is going to roll out on july 1st and we've still not tested the feature. Please help me give an alternate solution to download patch without involving Dynamics 365 operations procedure or help me populate the product while creating a project.

When i created a project for first time, i was able to see dynamics 365 for operations selection. But i deleted the project to start fresh as i was getting some error after certificate download step. Since then, i was never able to see the product when i create a project. Please HELP!!

Just to clear up any confusion, are you trying to apply this patch to AX 2012 R2, or to Dynamics AX 365?  You reference both in your post.

I believe you may be combining instructions for various versions.  I went to your link and clicked on the R2 download link and it downloads kernel and application updates.  You just run these in your R2 environment and walk through the installer steps.

You could also slipstream this but that isn't necessary in this case.

You are mixing up a lot of different things in available tools for Microsoft, documentations, versions of the product.

If I sign on to the LifeCycle Services website, and use the Issue search, I am able to find the GST hotfix for download for specific product versions there. Here is the direct link:

    https://fix.lcs.dynamics.com/Issue/ReleasedFeature?bugId=3838084

KB 4019353 Features to comply with the India GST legislation ,2017- AX2012 R3/AX2012 R2/AX2009SP1 (GA Release)

And here is the KB article it links to:

So you are saying, just install the windows kernel and exe. Nothing else? What about the configuration files(.xml)?

Thank you for your prompt answer. I am referring to steps given by my organization finance functional team.

The below are the steps i am referring to. Please answer if this is necessary or not. If not, just suggest me the steps in simple words to install which would help me a lot.

Process flow for installing patch for GST

    1. Login to LCS  with O365 account
    2. Get in to your project and click on configure azure settings. Click on Add to add a new azure settings with your own subscription ID.

If you do not have any company provided subscription ID, then you can try to add a free subscription ID else it won’t allow you to proceed. Free subscription can be added through the azure portal (portal.zure.com)

    1. After adding the subscription, click on download LCS certificate.
    2. Upload the LCS certificate to old azure portal (manage.windowsazure.com)

     > settings > certificate tab

You need to have admin right in old azure portal for uploading the certificate.Your O365 account might not have admin right. In case you have a live ID , that needs to have admin right in azure portal in order to upload the certificate.

    1. Get back to LCS page and click on finish.
    2. Click on Add environment (+)
    3. Deploy the Dynamics 365 ARM enabled –Release 1611 environment in Azure. Select DevTest option and uncheck the Build box.
    4. After the deployment is done , go to Application update section.
    5. Down load the package for KB4010382 and KB4011292.

    7. Run the command prompt  as admin and execute the command J:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\Bin\SCDPBundleInstall.exe -install -packagepath=D:\package\

    XYZ.axscdppkg -metadatastorepath=J:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory

    1. Open the Visual studio and build the Tax engine Model with all dependent packages.

If any error comes, then select the electronic reporting model and  build it individually woth all dependent package. Then again build the Tax engine model.

    1. Open Dynamics 365 , go to Electronic reporting > Configuration provider and create new for India GTE private preview project (Need to be added by Microsoft in LCS).
    2. Go to Electronic reporting  > Tax configuration page and import the  following XMLS (these are to be downloaded from Asset library of India GTE private preview project in LCS)

Taxable Document 40 , Taxable Document  India  40.81 ,Tax  India GST  40.81.113

If there are error in compilation in D365 box, then it will throw error on import. The errors need to be resolved manually

Following process are to be executed in AX 2012 R3 box

    1. Install the kernel and appl hotfix provided by MS(KB3216614) in your AX 2012 box and  do a full compilation and synchronization.

    Hi,

The main reason i'm mixing dynamics 365 and dynamics 2012 R2 is because of the following architecture

    Roadmap towards India GST

Which makes me configure both, the hotfix installation and configuration of Dynamics 365 for operations to generate xml files.

Once the setup process is understood among us, i would like to discuss my issue. Please refer to the pdf file attached in the drive
