Dynamics 365 CE: Non-Modal Dialog containing an IFRAME

Hello all,

In D365 CE, is it possible to create and launch a non-modal dialog box (accessuse.eu/.../non-modal-dialogs.html), which contains an IFRAME pointing to a 3rd Party Web App? Idea is to allow to/from communication between 3rd Party Web app (say an intranet webpage) and D365 form that launched the dialog box ?

Hi Partner,

What do you mean by a non-modal dialog box? I can't any information about it.

I just can find information about modal dialog:Enable creating and editing data in forms displayed as a modal dialog without navigating away - Power Platform Release Plan | Microsoft Docs

Thank you very much for your response. The following webpage explains the difference between Modal and Non-Modal Dialgog box. Is the link visible to you? www.nngroup.com/.../ Does it explain my point?

I know it is possible to make and launch dialog boxes that can contain an IFRAME. But, I am not sure if information can be passed to and from the webpage (in IFRAME of the launched dialog box) and Dynamics page that launched the dialog box.

For example, in your example does the main form (that launched second main form) get disabled after launching the second main form?

You need to consider the cross-window message event. Post message in one window and get message in another window. Check here for details: developer.mozilla.org/.../message_event
