Hi everyone!
Regarding the permissions and licenses , a Team Member is not allowed to create cases.
But is he able to relate a custom entity with a case? I have a custom entity which is related to a case with a lookup field , but will he be able to do it?

To clarify across the responses. The key consideration is the type of relationship between the custom entity and the case entity. If it's N:N or N:1 (custom to case), then it is permitted to do this with the Team Member license, as you are not modifying a field on the case entity. From a permissions perspective the user will need Read and Append To on the case entity.
If, however, the relationship is 1:N (custom to case) - i.e. the relationship is formed by a lookup on the case entity to the custom entity, then you cannot do this with the Team Member license, as making the relationship would involve an update to the case
As far as I'm aware and according to the licencing guide which doesn't specifically mention it, there is no restriction on Append or Append to which is what you will be doing.

Paul
Workaround: replicate case functionalities you need over a new entity.
This may not have been the case when you originally wrote this but you will get dinged on this. If you replicate the functionality of an OOB entity, you will need a license for that entity.

Hi Shak,
Questione: team member has any limit when using case entity?
License: YES, he cannot use it
Privileges: NO, there isnt any limit about roles, privileges and co.
Conclusion: you could use it (no technical limit) but you shouldn't do it
Workaround: replicate case functionalities you need over a new entity.
Hope it helps.

Team Members do not have permission for case management based on Microsoft Licensing Guides.
They have access to read the data, but not able to modify it.
So the answer is basically no.
Saying that, it does not mean that the system will prevent them. They might still be able to do it, but that would be "violation" of their license. I don't think the Microsoft License currently prevents them from doing it. (It didn't until recent releases).
Hope this helps...
Anyone please? Just wondering if you can add a lookup field to a case , in a custom entity form if you are a team member
For both cases if it is possible
Hey Shak, this question is realted to Enterprise Edition or Business edition?
