Hello
I was wondering if you could see the total number of users actively using Business central or not?
Like Logs and further we can divide it by different activities like creation of Sales Order or Sales Quotes
Once we have a data like this? we can also create visual representation on it? is it possible? if anyone can provide any alternative to track it ? like integration to power automate to store the information in excel anything workable solution.
I have the same question (0)

Hi, as far as I know, there is no such OOB feature to achieve this. You need to do some customization. It is recommended that you can send the feedback into the idea forum for some suggested improvements:

There are two ways to view active users.
Users currently active on the Environment  can be viewed from the Admin Center per Environment.
Other than that there are User Status on the user card is set to Active or Inactive.
The rest will be custom development. Create a logging table that logs each user as soon as they Open BC.

Each record in Business Central has a associated fields called Created By and Modified by. The value is the User ID that created or modified the Sales Document.
You can use these fields to determine who created which document.

    Hi,

The only way to achieve this is using telemetry in business central.

There are prebuild power bi reports (OOB) which provide you all details that you are looking for.

    Hi

In User setup we have option to enable time register. By enabling this we can able to track the time of activity within business central for all the users

    Registering user time

You can specify that you want Business Central to register the amount of time that each user works with a company in the database. To register user time, use the User Setup page in the client. To see the time use that has been registered, search for the Time Registers page.

    Thanks

There are several options, some of which have already been mentioned:

    1. Telemetry
    2. Sessions Page in the Business Central Admin Center
    3. User Time Registry. I wrote a blog post about this feature - https://valentincastravet.com/how-to-monitor-user-logins-in-business-central/
    4. Change Log entries
    5. Perhaps even the Sales Order/Quote Archive.

    Hi BBC_dhanvi,

    just so you know.

We are working on making it possible to view all tables in an on prem BC through "pseudo dimensional views".

A part of this is to make it possible to ask any question of the underlying database, or replica of the database, via standard dimensional type queries.

We created standard views over all tables, this is the "next step".

We have published all the views we have created so far using BC UK Cronus as the example.

You are welcome to check it out on this link.

All these views and work are free and open source.

You will be able to copy the views from the demo across to BC23 if you are using that.

For other versions people can make their own views etc if they want or we can help out if there is demand for them.

I think the ability to ask dimensional style queries over the top of BC on prem will be popular.

    Best Regards

    Peter
