We recently upgraded to CRM online and was looking for some direction.  We noticed today that CRM has made some changes to the functionality in the way you can search account.  can someone direct me to where we would be able to see the upcoming changes that CRM plans to release.  I just want to be able to give my users a heads up that there are changes coming so they don't get to flustered when using CRM online.

I appreciate all the help that is provided.

    There hasent been a roll-up release since august 16'th 2012. (Roll-up 10)

So if you experience changes in the functionality regarding searching accounts, it would be something that you just only found out.. but has existed for a while.

With that said.. I havent seen any changes to search functionality. Could you specify what the changes you experience is?

We’ve noticed some changes in how we’re able to search for records in CRM. It looks like now we have to use the wild card when searching for a city, or with many account names – IE, try searching for just “boise” or “memorial health system” and results aren’t populating. I noticed it last night when I was trying to work from home but thought it might just be my connection.

Another strange thing in CRM – the columns are different when you click on account and it shows all the accounts by default – and then when you search for an account – the display columns are different. They used to be the same info displayed. Same with the contact fields.

The things you are describing is not something that Microsoft would change in a release.. The functionalities that you are describing are part of the customisations of CRM. So your problem is not with Microsoft releases.

With that said.. I only see 2 reasons for this:

    1. did you switch from a Outlook client to using the IE client? The reason I am asking is because what you are describing is actually the difference in how CRM search functionality works in Outlook and in IE stand alone.

    2. The second option is that someone has been changing the customizations of your CRM environment.

That are the ONLY 2 options.

    Hi Jeremiah,

Normally, Update Rollups are released every 12 weeks or so; however, CRM Online is updated a few weeks after this in case of any critical issues that arise. You can review the CRM Update Rollups page for changes that are made in these. The Update Rollup articles are posted 1 week prior to the public release of an Update Rollup to the download page. Here is an example of Update Rollup 11.
