POS Return by Scanning Receipt does not work

POS 2.0 is suppose to let you scan the barcode on the receipt and recall the transaction for return.  It is not working for me and support is telling me that the only way to do a return is to manually look up the receipt.  Does anyone have any ideas on this?  Please advise.

I know in POS 2009 you have to use the Find function on the Tools menu (in POS). Then select transaction from the drop down menu. You can scan the receipt barcode in the "Search for this text" field and it should find the transaction and list it in the grid below. You can select it from there. Once you select it, you can recall it for a return. Hope that helps.

    Diane,

You are able to Scan a bar code on a receipt.  If you hit F11 a screen will pop up and one of the things you can do is "recall a transaction for return" then select the date range of where that transaction took place.  now click OK and then click on the word "transaction" then Scan the bar code and it will find it and bring it in.  Now if the transaction took place that day and you had not settled your credit cards then the credit card number will still be in there and you will not need the customers card.  If it was from a day or longer then you will need the credit card number to put the amount back onto the card.
