Data Exchange Definition for Positive Pay to include Bank Routing Number

We have a requirement for a positive pay export file to have the first column the bank routing number. How can we format this column when there is nothing to map it to? I tried setting the column as a Constant and mapping it to a field we are not using but that didn't work. I checked the Overwrite Value checkbox in the field mapping too but that didn't help. Then I tried mapping it to a field that we are already using and checked the Overwrite Value checkbox but it still didn't work.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

set the column to a constant, make the constant your routing number, but dont map it to anything and it should work

I had tried that already and it didn't work. When  it's not mapped to anything it becomes a timestamp--even with the Overwrite Value checkbox marked. I think, since it is an export, every column I want exported needs to be mapped.

Can you post a screenshot of your data exchange definition? It definitely works because I tried it before.

Include the field in the Column Definitions FastTab like this:

You mentioned the Overwrite Value checkbox, do not include this field in the Field Mapping Page, it should not be added here. The only place it needs to be is in the above Column Definitions FastTab, not every column needs to be mapped because its an export. If a column has a constant value then there is no reason to map it to anything as it will always have that constant value.

    Hi,

Thanks for your help! Here are some screen shots. When I add the Routing number column 1 and I don't map it, it automatically sets it as a timestamp.

    Hi,

We have this figured out. The column needs to be a constant on the Column Definitions FastTab but NOT on the Field Mapping. So the Data Exchange Definition looks like this:

Column 1 is the Routing Number set as a Constant:

    pastedimage1676473396312v1.png

But it is not mapped in Field Mapping

This gives us the Routing Number in column 1 of the Positive Pay file!

Thanks for your help--got us going in the right direction. Hope this helps others!
