Email Router User does not have send-as privilege From Workflow Process

Hello,

We are using Dynamics CRM Online - I have the email router setup on my local server, and it works - I can test access fine.  (I'm trying to setup outbound emails using a SMTP server.)

I can log into CRM as one of the users I'm trying to send email from and then create an activity - then email, and I can send the email fine to another user.

I also created a workflow process where I set the user that it's sending from is {Created By (Delegate)} and it works to send from the user that created the record.

Where I'm running into an issue is that I created a workflow process that when a record is created in an entity I'm trying to have it email a user on behalf of another user.  So in my workflow process the from is set to User A and the send to is set to User B.  User C is adding the record to the entity and it's giving me an error of: User does not have send-as privilege.

I've checked around - it doesn't appear that on the online version of CRM you can send on behalf of another user?  Does anyone else know how to get around this in a workflow process?

Thanks.

    Hi Ryanha,

There is an option to allow this behavior.

    Please see the following procedure:

    1. Log into CRM as the owner of the workflow
    2. Go to “File – Options – Email tab”
    3. Check the box  “Allow other Microsoft Dynamics CRM users to send e-mail on your behalf”

    Regards,

    This doesn't work for me.

I had the workflow which sends the email owned another user. I assigned the Workflow to me and then followed these below procedures but it didn't work for me.

1.. Log into CRM as the owner of the workflow

    2. Go to “File – Options – Email tab”

    3. Check the box  “Allow other Microsoft Dynamics CRM users to send e-mail on your behalf”

    Any help on this.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kirsh,

There is a role privilege  that you might need to tick, it is under Business Management tab and it is called 'send email as another user' and then make sure that the affected user has that role assigned.

    Regards,

    Martyna

Thanks Martyna. I have role with  'send email as another user' set to global but still I get the same issue.

Also, I have several users with this role out of which few users don't get 'User does not have send-as privilege'  issue but few users do get. But all of them have been assigned with same single role and not multiple roles too. I am using Online CRM.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

You can go to the "Administration" tab of the process information page and change Worflow's owner to be the account on which behalf the email is sent.
