How to have different UOM of formula Item in production and inventory in D365 FO

Hi,

I want to have a formula item in Metric Tons while manufacturing through production/batch order but keep it in Kilograms (Kg) in inventory for further consumption to produce another formula item. I tried through keeping that Item's BOM UOM in M.Tons and Inventory UOM in Kg. I tried to process batch order but it kept producing item in Kg instead in M.Tons.

Will appreciate if anyone can suggest a solution for this issue? Please suggest in detail through examples.

Hi

While setting up Formula for FG in manufacturing, system makes use of inventory unit of measurement as base unit of measurement.

Item A is FG, Inventory unit KG whenever you are producing this item A system consider this as base unit of measurement. on BOM Unit is Ton

now you want to further process Item A to produce Item B

on the formular line for Item B which is now the FG, select this item A and confirm what you have on unit of measurement it should be Ton (t).
