AX2012 R3 CU08 to CU13 upgrade

Hello,

I'm upgrading from cu8 to cu13,

the db in for ax2012 cu8 is in sql2014. 

if i install sql2016 sp2 in a new server(AXDB1) and restore the ax db (the one in 2014) in 2016 sql server. And install AX2012 r3 cu13 directly in a new server(AXAOS) and point to the new db in AXDB1 will the upgrade happens? is this path correct? f1

    System requirements documentation is pretty clear about this. SQL Server 2016 is only supported above CU11, which you do not have. You need to finish the code upgrade process first on your old SQL instance. After that is completed and you have finished the AX AOS in-place upgrade steps (or fresh installation, whichever you are doing), you may restore the DBs on the new SQL instance, and set compatibility mode to 2016 then finish data upgrade there.
