AX2009 email parameter settings

Hi,

I am trying to setup email alert notification in AX2009. I seemed to have done everything correct but still get error when trying to run tutorial_eventprocessor. Wondering if something missing in email parameters. It has outgoing mail server IP and SMTP port number. Not sure how to setup the rest and if they are really needed.

Will appreciate any help here.

Regards

Uma

    Hi,

You need a super friendly exhange server. The mails are probably being blocked by the firewall.

    Hi Uma

You should only need to specify the IP address and port number (usually 25) of your outgoing mail server but remember that the mail server itself will need to be configured to accept connections from your object server and, if you want to send automated emails outside your organisation from AX, it will also need to be configured so that the object server is allowed to relay.

My guess is that if you're getting an error then its more likely to be becuase your mail server is refusing the connection rather than becuase the email parameters in AX are set wrong.

    Hi

Thanks for your ideas. They are very helpful. The IP address and SMTP port (25) are correctly specified in the outgoing mail server.

Interestingly, I do get alert email notification from the batch job (from me to me) saying The batchjob Email distributor batch completed successfully. So something is working(:

Only I don't get regular alert rule email. I even changed the email template to make sender me instead of administrator. Still no luck. Will check exchange server settings.

    Regards,

    Uma
