Multi-Company Module and Base Currency

Hi, there!

I am going to purchase the 'multi-company' module from Microsoft. Our core system is SL2018.

The module allows users to select two options, either to keep one database or set up multiple databases. I wonder if you keep the 'single database' option, a new company that we are going to setup with the same database as an existing company's can have a different base currency, such as the existing company in USD, and a subsidiary in EUR.

Your advice will be appreciated.

We find our clients who are single database and have multiple companies with different base currencies (meaning the home currency of the company) wish they would have chosen to do multiple databases instead. You can do financial statement translations but you really don't get the true base currency effect for a company that has a base currency different than the master company.

You can only have one base currency and it is dependent on the master company that is set up. Depends on what is more important, sharing COA, Subs, Vendors and Customers or having their books in their own currency.
