Async Client cannot connect to Async Server.

We've successfully configured a PROD environment.

Now we're creating a TEST env.  We duplicated the AX, then installed a Async Server on the AOS server, installed store db, Async client on a store server in another domain.

I can access the WCF https://server:8303/AsyncServerLab/DownloadService.svc  from the store server.

But the test connection failed fron the Async client configuration Tool.

from the event viewer, i see errors below:

Unable to communicate with server for download. Please check username/password, server and database connections. Error Details: System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException: An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party. See the inner FaultException for the fault code and detail. ---> System.ServiceModel.FaultException: An error occurred when verifying security for the message.

I've make sure useing the same username/password set in AX's retail setup channel database form.

Sync metadata succefully.

And we use the same certificate used in PROD evnironment which is obtained from a provider.  (Also tried using self-generated).

Any ideas?

thanks

Feng

If I change the Async server info in Async client configuration Tool to be PROD one, test connection successfully.  So the Async client side has no problem.

In the TEST AX and Async server, I use the same port and certificate, why cannot make the Async client connect to it?

    Please help!

I still believe your issue is with the certificates. You are saying you are using the same certs from the PROD, but your TEST is using a different domain. Try for TEST to self-generate the certs. You can follow some of the guidelines I wrote at axfaq.blogspot.ro/.../generate-certificates-with-crl-for.html.

    Hi Iulian,

PROD, TEST AX are in same domain.  Just the Async Client, POS are external.

OK, there is a workaround Microsoft support provided. Install the async server and its message database on same server.

We use a dedicated SQL server to host AX database and Async server's message database.  We found the Async server installed on AOS server cannot communicate with the message database on the dedicated SQL server.

We had to install the Async server to the dedicated SQL server which means Async server and its message database are on a same server, then the connection between Async server and Async client works!

But in our PROD environment, the Async server and its message database are on seperate servers.

So I thought that should be some pre-requisites were not installed on the dedicated SQL server. Becuase when I was installing the Async server onto the dedicated SQL server, I was asked to download and install five components.

I tried re-using the the Async server on TEST AOS server (connect it's to the new message database), but the  async client still cannot connect to it successfully.  That's strange!!

Kindly add domain name to the async client or async server name in the configuration utility.

    This would look like this:

    2843.async.PNG

Since you have said before that you installed it on a different domain. Kindly try it I hope it can help you.
