Unable to install/uninstall GP10

During the installation of GP10 SP5 on a Windows 7 development machine, the application aborted halfway through with a generic error message. I tried to reinstall the application from the start but after launching  setup.exe and selecting 'install Microsoft Dynamics GP', nothing happenings. The control panel indicated GP is installed, so I tried to un-install but nothing happens. I have tried deleting files from the GP directory and deleting the database but still GP will neither install or unistall. Has anyone got an idea why the installation process does not start. It is as if the installation detects some registry key and then decides not to proceed.

    hi,

    since you have deleted the GP folder, you won't be able to uninstall from Add Remove programs. If you have a backup of GP folder, place the folder back in the original location, and try installing from the scratch and now select repair option instead of fresh installation, sometimes may work. If you don't have any backups, trying searching in the registry with key words like great plains / dynamics and delete all the registry entries related to GP and try again the installation. please keep posting the progress.
