Microsoft Dynamics GP (Archived)

I just started using unit accounts in 2010. When we closed the 2010 general ledger the unit accounts came over. Do I have to clear these accounts to zero? I want to keep them for comparative purposes on our variance reports.

    Hello,

Unit accounts are treated as Balance Sheet Accounts so what you are seeing is normal.  We do have a KB that talks about this:

849536 Unit Accounts and Clearing Beginning Balances

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../KBDisplay.aspx

There is also another KB that gives one possible method to clear out the values:

853467 Unit Accounts Have a Balance Brought Forward

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../KBDisplay.aspx

    Thanks,

Unit accounts are treated as Bal Sheet accounts in GP.   I do not have it handy, but there is a process to 'close them out' if needed.
