Fixed Assets - Retire assets in current FA calendar before closing previous year

Our finance team would like to retire assets in 2014 prior to closing the 2013 FA Calendar.  Is this possible?

    You can do this unless you performed any activity on the asset (that you want to retire) in 2014.
