automatically expand to use available space?

Hello - I was changing the properties for the Assignments grid on the Company form. For this particular grid, there probably won't ever be more than 20-30 rows for the organization. Therefore, in the "Row Layout" section I can set the "Number of Rows" to 250 and the grid will expand without paging to accomodate up to 250 rows.

However, there's also a checkbox for "Automatically expand to use available space." I think by setting "Number of Rows" to 250 the grid already automatically expands to accomodate additional rows. And when I check the checkbox it doesn't disable the "Number of Rows" option.

Does "Automatically expand to use available space" refer to the column width as opposed to expanding the length of the grid to accomodate additional rows?

    It does not apply to the number of the rows on the grid. This number's maximum is 250. The automatically expand uses the maximum available size on the form.

    It does not apply to column width!

    In a way it determines if the height is pre-allocated or not. Example, if you set the rows to 250 and leave it unchecked, you'll see the space taken up on the form allots for 250 no matter now many are returned. If the box if checked, the amount of vertical space is determined by the row count you specified, but will only take up the minimum amount of space need to show the returned records. If it only returns 5 records, it only takes of 5 records worth of space. These settings don't affect width.
