How to tell if any users are connected to CRM

I'm planning a change to a Production CRM instance.  The users have been informed that the system will be offline during this time, but I want to double check that no-one is connected.

I know that CRM is stateless and that a user may have it open in a browser but may not have used it for several minutes.

Is there something I can check on the server to see the last time data was sent back to a user session?  Using SQL, or IIS, or something else?

For 2011/2013 im pretty sure its the following

Navigate to Administration --> System Settings. Click on Auditing Tab.

Under Audit Settings, ensure 'Audit User Access' is ticked.

Once this is done, navigate to Audting tab (under Settings --> Auditing), click on Audit Summary View, enable filter on the 'Event' field to filter by 'User Access via Web' and 'User Access via Web Services'

The other way is run a 3 minute SQL trace and then filter by users and it will tell you who has been accessing things (remember that CRM admin and the service account will be accessing so just ignore them)

Thanks Mark, Auditing will fit the bill, though slightly different on CRM 2015.

    Nice blog page BTW :)
