I have just started noticing sql timeouts when trying to make configuration changes to our Contact entity eg adding a new field or adding values to an optionset. This has only started happening since late last week and otherwise CRM appears to be functioning as per usual.
I have tried increasing the sql timeout by adding a registry key - see, for instance, http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2637855 - but this has yet to resolve the issue.
Any one any idea what to do next?
