Multiple Owners

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Is there a way to have multiple owners of one Account or Contact?  We have multiple people who may call on an Account or Contact and should have duel ownership.  We would want that one contact to show up under the "my active contacts" for both owners.

Is this possible?

Connecting someone else does not share their contact info.

We would want it to tie to their Outlook contacts as well.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Victoria

    RE: Multiple Owners

    Hello,

In my opinion, and if I understand your needs, there are several options:

    1. Use the "Share" feature
    2. Use access teams
    3. Use an N: N relationship between contact and users

The choice really depends on how useful it will be.
If you want to see all the contacts in the "my active contacts" view, you will have to adopt this view and the synchronization outlook filter too.
I will recommend the second or third solution that allows us to add this notion to a view with a join using the relationship created.

    For the third option :

Then, the view my contact must be modified :

    Hope it will helps you!

Were you able to find a smart solution to your problem. I have a similar issue but don't know how to tackle?

create a subgrid for access teams, and add teams there; users will be able to see & work then

    Access Teams explained below:

Sharing will not work because we allow all users to view/modify any Account/Contact/Opportunity in the system.

With sharing you allow to other user to access at your record... Check within Active Contact and not in My Active Contact...

Sharing really does nothing...? I shared a contact with another user then checked 'My Active Contacts' and there was nothing there.

We are thinking of using the Follow feature.  Then you can access "Contacts I follow".

We will see how that goes over.

    Hello VWeber,

Did you try with sharing option?

In this way you will have a single owner for your entity but other user can view information (with whom you shared the record).

    Let me know,

    Thanks

Only one user can be ownerof contacts and account, But Team can be owner of contact.

For outlook you can change sync filter etc "all contacts where team is owner."
