Hi

We have around 500 users 6 business units . Initially security was implemented based on the Teams , system was a bit customised , some times we are having difficulties to identify proper reason for errors  this is due to customization done based on teams, Now we are want to change this? Any suggestions.

My preferred way to manage security is to start with security roles for users. If possible, I like to create a core role that applies to all users and then create incremental roles that provide additional rights/privileges for specific job roles.

I see you have 6 business units, depending on why you have 6 BUs using a single core role for all users might not work for you.

Allocating security roles to teams is a good way to give access to users to a different business unit from the user's home business unit.

I don't think there is a right or wrong way. You need to implement a scheme that meets your needs but is easy to understand and scale.

Security is a tricky and complex area of CRM.

Are the problems you are experiencing in your customizations?

What errors are you experiencing and why are they hard to identify?

    Hi Chaitanya,

Could you please shed some light on 'Difficulties to identify errors' - Are they specific to a group of users or Client execution (UI) or errors in back ground processes.

As Ben alluded - Security is tricky.

Please share details/specifics with your issues/use case when the clients encounter errors.

    Thank you,

    Harihar
