Hello fellows,

I want to know if is possible to change the auto-fill value of ordernumber and invocenumber.

Like, my ordernumber is populate by the crm (OOB), and is it something like this PED-01002-P2J9H4.

I want to change to something like (OD+Name)-DateofCreation-NumberRevision

it is auto generated by CRM ,so System will not allow you to change it.

So what you need to do is create a new fieldd ID2, where you will generate the desired number via plugin

Make the original ID field editable, by default it is set to read-only, so change it

create a workflow to copy ID2 value to ID

    Rrocha,

You need to have a custom code either using your own plugin or using third party solutions.

The Order number in CRM you can only change the length of the number and very limited customization. If you want to construct something that it is custom rule like yours, yes you need the customization.

If you want to override the existing field, it is possible, you need to register the step of your plugin in preValidation event like I did in Case.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Hi Rrocha,

The OOB field won't let you do this.

But using customization you can achieve this.

    1. Create a new field to store your new format Order Number.

    2. Create a Real Time workflow (if using CRM 2013 or above) to generate the Auto Number.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks
