Chart filters didn't works in v9 as in v8

I have a chart that is grouping the records by the owner, so it's very easy to click in the owner name directly in the chart to just see in the list all the related records, till here all is working as expected, but then after opening one of those records to do wherever need to be done, you went back to the chart with the filtered list, right? well this was working in this way before the new Unified Interface but isn't the case for the new UI, in the new UI the chart and the list are showed without any filter!

Do you know if this is a product defect or if there is something I am doing wrong? or if the feature now is expected to work differently?

Note: we did the upgrade from v8.2 On-Premise to v9.1.9 On-Premise
