CRUD Operations in Liquid Template

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We're working with CRM Portals. We doesn't have problems with the configurations, web templates, Content Snippets, etc. We need to update several records in a single operation, we need to create a custom web template with Liquid and updated the  records, (e.g.) leads. How can we do this?

Thank you very much Nick. I suppose it could be something like that.

The implementation of Liquid in Portals at this time does have a method to update records in the portal.  Right now all liquid can do is the "R" in CRUD operations.

    A couple of options:

What you could do is setup an entity list or entity form and configure an Action button to run a D365 workflow and update your records that way.  Documentation on this seems pretty sparse right now but its fairly intuitive.  You could extend your workflow on the D365 side (workflow plug-ins)

If you are a developer (or have access to developers) another approach would be to build a custom web application (single page application) from ground up and host it as an Azure Web App and call it from your portal page using JavaScript.  You would write the web app to update D365 via the WebAPI.

Just some ideas to consider to get over this functionality gap.

    Cheers

    Nick
