After keying a cash batch in "Receivables Batch Entry", and posting the batch, the following error screen pops up

"The specified path for the output file doesn't exit"

1)  The receivables batch does post
2)  The invoices do clear the A/R

    Hello Carolyn,

This error is usually because the posting journal is set to be saved to a folder on your computer or network that no longer exists.

You can check this in the posting setup (Microsoft Dynamics GP menu >> Tools >> Setup >> Posting >> Posting). Change the Series drop down to Sales and then change the Origin drop down to what you are posting. I believe you would pick Receivables Cash Receipts since you said it was a "cash batch."

Then look down at the bottom of the Posting Setup window which will show you all the reports. There is a "Send To" section and if a report is being sent to a file the check box under the folder icon will be marked. So for example is the Cash Receipts Posting Journal has the folder icon check box marked, click on the field right below the report name and then click on the folder icon to the far right in the header to show where it is set to save the journal. In this situation that path is most likely incorrect or the folder doesnt exist any longer. Try changing it to your desktop and see if it prints fine on the next posting.

This report is set to output to a path that no longer exists.  Check your drive mapping and the path to which this report is being sent and make corrections. You can do this by pointing to shared folder that you do have access to or by not sending the output to a file but directly to the printer or screen.
