GP Newbie - help with Journals.

Hi,

I hope someone can help. I am trying to amend a payroll journal posted in GP. I would ideally like to delele the entire journal and start fresh. Is this possible??

I would also like to know how I can tell if a journal has been deleted/amended in the past. I can see journal entries on the reports produced but not if they have been amended/ deleted.... I cant help but this Im just not looking in the right place.

I am new to accounts and new to GP so would really appreciate any help as I have lots of questions - I've even purchased "Microsoft GP For Dummies" but I still have questions. (Im using GP 2010)

No, you can't delete a journal entry. That would go against all accounting audit trail rules. However, you can correct a journal entry. The 'Correct' button at the top of the Transaction Entry window allows you to reverse, or reverse and correct, the original JE. Click on the 'Correct' button and then click on the little blue Help icon at the bottom right corner of the window to read the Help article on that function.
