Change the sales rep AFTER the sale

Posted on by 260

We have had several instances where after the sale, we find that we need to change the sales rep from one employees to another. I guess in a cash transaction, we could just return everything and re-run it with the correct rep, but we can't do that with a credit card tranacrion where the customer has already left.

Any suggestions on how i can go in and change the sales rep for these past transactions?

One can do it with a SQL script.  That will change eveything except the Journalled receipt

    Backup first!!!

Open SO/HQ Admin, Log into the database | Query | New | type SalesRep | this will show you all of the Sales Reps and their internal ID. You might want to print it out

    Next | Query | New | type

    UPDATE TransactionEntry

SET SalesRepID = xxx (the ID of the Sales Rep from the printout)

WHERE TransactionNumber = yyyyy (the Transaction/Receipt Number)

    Backup First !!!!

This assumes that one has never changed/re-used  the Transaction Numbers

    BACKUP FIRST !!!
