I have a BPF on a custom entity. I want to trigger an email to the manager when a particular(3rd stage) stage is active for a certain time. What is the best approach to achieve this.

you can achieve it from both ways ,but the thing is using SLA it will be one time send (like if failure time or warning time reach trigger send email ) , but if you want it for each process steps then it should come under PBF .
so as per your requirement you can go ahead
I am using the same BPF for different scenarios. For every stage it will trigger the workflow and keep on hold till the wait time. Does this impact the performance. Can this be achieved using Enhanced SLA? any thoughts on it.
