Navbar and Footer in Events Portal

Hi,

We downloaded the sample code for the events portal from here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/developer/event-management-web-application#download-sample-event-website since we had to do some changes in the API requests.

We also added a new page from the portal app in dynamics. We have a problem since the navigation bar and footer for this page and the profile page have different styling and information

This is the navigation bar for event pages:

This is the navigation bar for pages created from the portals app in dynamics:

The same applies for the footer. Is it possible to use the same navbar and footer for both types of pages?

Thanks,
Kelly

    Hi Kelly,

For event website, both header and footer are part of a series of Angular pages, while the new page created from portal app is still implemented from general HTML code and liquid tags.

Therefore, unfortunately they are not compatible, it can be said that the event website couldn't be customized via portal app, that is the reason why documentation ask us to download sample website to do customization and then deploying the complied project with script.

However, it is still possible to create a custom API endpoint in Event Portal, you could refer to following tutorial:

    Thanks Clofly for your reply.

Is it possible to edit the HTML code and liquid tags generated for the new page created by the portal app?

    Hi Kelly,

Yes, we can still edit source HTML code directly of the corresponding new page, and if the portal user has administrator web role, then he/she should still be able to see portal content editor, and obviously the editor will be only available in the new page.

In a word, new pages created by the portal app could be regarded as general portal page, they are standalone to all other pages of event website.

You could also try editing the new page in PowerApps portal editor.

    Hi,

Can you please tell me where can I find the HTML source file of these pages?

I can see the web page but cannot see any HTML code and I need this to edit some elements.

    Thanks
